Artist. Teacher. Butterfly keeper.

Jenny Morley Licht is an award-winning, professional working artist with a BA in painting from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Her versatile style of bright, contemporary art — found on everything from miniature paintings to oversize canvases — is her hallmark. A full-time Florida resident, she finds inspiration in the extraordinary colour and beauty of a sunset (they never disappoint) and in the wildlife found only in subtropical Southwest Florida.

She is well known for the art classes she teaches throughout Southwest Florida, in public venues, in gated communities and in her own Wissota Art Studio. In them she teaches acrylics on canvas, painting on silk with dyes, glassware painting and alcohol inks, alongside a whole host of classes that involve imagination and paint. She often honours requests for private classes in any medium — acrylic, oil or watercolour.

Along with her art and her family, Jenny is a world traveller, an admitted tennis junkie (throwing in some pickleball too), a community volunteer on a landscape committee and an elected CDD Supervisor. She co-founded the Butterfly Garden in her community and raises butterflies year round — Monarchs, Gulf Fritillaries, Polydamas Swallowtails, Queens and Longwings. The common thread through her work, her images and her volunteering is the conservation and preservation of our natural spaces, as we coexist with the flora and fauna that surround us here in the Everglades.
